The X-client NXclient technology from nomachine allows you to connect to any computer and start an X-session with near realtime control. What this means is that you can control graphic ( X-based) applications on the remote machine with performance almost as good as physically sitting on a monitor direct;y to that remote machine.

To install the server  ( Free software ) on your linux machine , download the appropriate installation packages from NoMachines website

In case there are debian files install the package in the following order:

sudo dpkg --install nxclient_3.3.0-3_x86_64.deb followed by sudo chmod 755 /usr/lib/cups/backend/ipp

sudo dpkg --install nxnode_3.3.0-3_x86_64.deb

sudo dpkg --install nxserver_3.3.0-8_x86_64.deb

Following that the server should be up and running allowing connections from nxclients.

You can check out how quick and  real time these connections respond to a graphics application like pymol that requires real time interaction in this screencast.
